What is the Eligibility to sit in NHTET
1. Full-time Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Administration/ Hotel Management after 10+2 from a recognized University/ Institute with at least 55% marks with at least 2 years Hospitality Industry Experience after obtaining Degree (6 months IT is part of Courses, not to be considered as experience for this purpose).
OR
Full-time Master’s Degree in Hospitality Administration/ Hotel Management with at least 55% marks from a recognized University/ Institute after full-time Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Administration/ Hotel Management from a recognized University/ Institute with at least 55% marks.
2. Candidates having full-time Bachelor Degree in Hospitality/ Hotel Administration/ Management with 55% or more marks in aggregate and thereafter appearing in the final semester (i.e. in 4th Semester)/ final year exam of the master’s degree and have passed all subjects of previous year/ semester, can also apply. It may be noted that the candidates who are in 2nd year (3rd Semester) of their Master’s Degree in Hospitality are not eligible to apply.
3. Age should not be more than 35 years. Relaxation of age by 5 years for those belong to SC/ST/PD categories, 3 years for those belong to OBC categories is applicable as per rules. The maximum age in NHTET to be held from January to May, will be counted as on 31st July of the same year. Similarly maximum age in NHTET to be held from July to October, will be counted as on 31st December of the same year.

How many papers are there in NHTET Exam?
The Test will consist of three papers. All the three papers will consist of only objective type questions and will be held once in a calendar year. However, in case of insufficient candidates are qualified, the NCHMCT can hold the exam twice in a calendar year.
What is the Validity of the NHTET certificate?
The Certificate will have valid up to the period, the Candidate will remain in the maximum age prescribed to apply against any vacancy of Assistant Lecturer and Teaching Associates at NCHMCT and its affiliated IHMs.
What is the Application fee for the exam?
Rs.800/- for General/ EWS /OBC categories(male candidates only)
Rs.400/- for all female candidates as well as SC/ST/PD categories

What is the minimum qualifying mark in the NHTET Exam?
For All Papers in NHTET Exam, 45 is the minimum qualifying mark for General/ EWS/ OBC Category Candidates, 40% marks for PwD/ SC/ ST Candidates.
What is the marking scheme of the NHTET Exam?
Two marks are awarded for every correct answer. However, 1/2 mark for each wrong answer or for double attempted. 0 marks for the questions not attempted.
